It folds!
We love that this booster can fold. This also makes it easy for parents who want to have an extra booster in their trunk for carpooling or for parents who travel often. It makes storing it in your house easier as well!
Rigid Lower Anchors
Lower anchors on the booster are optional. But if you don’t use the lower anchors, then you need to buckle the seat belt whenever the child is not riding in the vehicle with you. The lower anchors on this seat are rigid, which also makes them easy to attach in many vehicles.
It has many adjustments for child fit
This high back booster has a couple of adjustment options to improve the child’s comfort. In addition, it has a recline option that can be good for tired kids. There is also a knob on the back of the seat that allows you to widen the seat where the side wings are. The width of the booster is 17-20″ depending on how you have this set.
Seat is good for you if
You frequently use Lyft/Uber/Taxis.
This seat works well in most vehicles. It folds up to make it easier to carry around as well. For carrying it around the city, you may want to grab the separate travel bag that Peg Perego makes for this seat.
You travel often.
This seat folds up to the size of a carry-on so it can be stowed in the overhead compartment of many planes. This makes it a good option for parents who want to take a high back booster on their family trips. And at 15 pounds, it’s not overly heavy to carry around.
You need to fit 3 across
The Peg Perego Viaggio Flex is 17″ wide unless you choose to use the backrest in the optional wider positions. At the lap belt path, it’s closer to 14″, so it’s usually very easy for a child to buckle the seat belt even when it’s next to another car seat. In this picture, we have it in a 3 across configuration with a Safety 1st SlimRide (review) and a Graco SnugRide SnugLock 35 DLX (review). You have a tall child.
This high back booster has 63″ limits, which is currently the maximum standing height limit available for boosters. It also has a very tall belt guide that can accommodate a child until their torso height is around 22″.
Use caution if
You want a booster that converts to backless as well.
This is a high back booster only. But it has a very tall headrest, so it will accommodate most children until they can fit properly in the seat belt.
You want a lightweight option to move between different vehicles.
This booster weighs about 15 pounds. With some boosters as light as 5 pounds, this is quite a heavy one. But it’s still not as heavy as many convertible car seats are, so 15 pounds may be ok for you!
Quirks to be aware of
Check the lap belt fit
In a few vehicles, we have found that the lap belt is too low. If you find this to be the case, you can try a different seating position. If this does not remedy the situation, you will need a different high-back booster. The lap belt should be on the hips.

Like all boosters, the Peg Perego Viaggio Flex does NOT have aircraft approval. But because it folds up, this is still a great option for airplane travel.
